Last week was a blur. I had taken outfit pictures one day, but never got a chance to post them. So here it goes...
So, this was my outfit from my interview last Thursday. I finally didn't wear jeans to school, so I definitely had to do an outfit post. Although, I should have taken it before school, when I wasn't all wrinkled.
I wore my favorite J. Crew shirt, with an A-Line Old Navy skirt (I've had since high school), and grey patent ballet flats.
Notice the red nails against the purple shirt, I love wearing red with lavender, I just think its such a petty combination.

Celebrate Today!
So we went to Disney last weekend... it was nice and HOT. When I say hot, I mean hell on earth hot, I heard something like in the 100s.
But I soldiered on and fashion went a little out the window, but not completely.
The first day we met up with some family from Miami at the boardwalk, the heat that day was tolerable as we were there mainly around sunset.
The next day we went to the pool and downtown Disney. I finally got to wear my new Modcloth swimsuit (no pictures with it yet).
When we got to Magic Kingdom we were able to get most of what we wanted to do over with early, so we left then came back to the park in time for the fireworks.
The last day, when we went to Epcot, we stayed the whole time in scorching heat... I thought I was going to pass out.
But the thing I did that I NEVER do, I wore sneakers on both days in the parks. I never wear sneakers unless expressly working out or doing some sort of thing that calls for them. I haven't wore them in other circumstances since high school. But i did it in the name of comfort.
Also while in Disney, I kept my tinted moisturizer with me and kept reapplying. The one I use has a 15 SPF so it protected me from the Florida sun and I escaped with out sunburns.
Overall it was a fun trip. You'll notice in all the pictures I have my hair up. All days I started with it down but the humidity was unbearable that in no time it made its way into a ponytail.

Have a Little Faith
Something I tell myself a lot is that you don't need to worry about what others think of how you dress, but rather how much you like what you're wearing.
I had tried on this dress back in December or January, and liked it, but it was full price and I didn't like it that much. So I waited and it went on sale and I bought it. When I brought it home my mom told me I looked like Mrs. Roper in this bright dress.... so I put it away.
Fast forward to May.
I tried on the dress again, and instead of just trying it on I styled it. Put it together how I would wear it out.... and mom's comments? "Oh, where did you get that? It's cute!"
So my advice, don't doubt yourself... If you like it, wear it!
Sweater: J.Crew 2009
Dress: Old Navy 2010
Shoes: Madden Girl
Headband: J. Crew 2010
Watch: Fossil
Bracelet: Flea Market
I got this bracelet in New York, from a flea market. Its a hinged bangle, I like it for it's vintage feel. Its something different.

Anyways, I'm still at the beach! I did some damage at the outlets today. I'll post those deals later, maybe tomorrow if I'm lucky.

I heart J. Crew
So I really love J. Crew, but they are a tad bit out of my price range. As a result, I must make do with going to the outlet and getting stuff on sale. The good thing about J. Crew though is that they have some awesome sales. I got my mom some really cute Fleur De Lis flip flops for $16, I got a shirt for $20... and this awesome headband for only $5!
I think someone told me that it was originally like $30, so $5 is a steal on this. And I think its super cute. So I am always checking out the J Crew sale section they always are sure to have some great finds.
This picture was taken by my little sister, how awesome is that. (I usually take all my own pictures)

FYI: I LOVE RUFFLES
I don't know if you know this fact... it should be pretty much common knowledge. But if you happened to not know... I LOVE ruffles!

But in life news, I have been drawing figures and clothes in class, its so much fun yet stressful at the same time. And as i mentioned earlier midterms are pretty much done although mine spread out for like two weeks, but anyways school is starting to simmer down, so start to expect more posts from me!
I don't really know what it is about them, but it is love. And as midterms and busy bee-ness is winding down, I am starting to get back to the interwebs of fashion again. And I was hungrily taking in notcot this evening and came upon this amazing ruffled skirt!
The Precious Skirt in Electric Blue by Katy Rodriguez, $785, is so gorg, it is truly to die for. The full ruffles and the amazing color!

I think it may just be the luscious romantic nature of the ruffle that I love so much. They remind you of an old love story.
And while I am in love with this skirt... its price tag is anything but LOVE for a fashionista on a budget... so I did a little browsing... Trying to find something anything, that could live up to Katy Rodriguez's skirt but on a budget and I only found some sad attempts. Nothing that would live up to the amazing volume or color of this skirt...
But here are the ruffly fruits of my skirt search:
-I have mixed feelings about this dress, I am not sure if I like it or not. The thing that caught me about it, was how structured the top looks with its knife pleats it looks almost like armor then you get to the skirt and its full and voluminous with soft ruffles.

- I like this dress for its awesome color, and the ruffles it featured aren't perfect, they are young and flirtatious, different, much like those seen in the inspiration skirt.

- I think the peplum gives it something fun and young, though not nearly as amazing as the original skirt.

And for a classic look, inspired by this offbeat skirt, I found this AMAZING dress from J Crew
Ruffled Edelyn Lawn Dress, which was $118, but is now $98
- in Shadow of course, I think it captures the softer, classic romantics of ruffles in a very prim and proper way

Bright Ice
Yesterday I had work yet again, and I decided to wear my knew J.Crew cardigan! I wore my trouser jeans with a pale yellow top that I got from Old Navy earlier this spring, and my "Ice" as my necklace has been called, which Anna got from Frock Candy for my Birthday a few years ago. Of course I had my Coach bag with me, I got it when I went to the outlets in May, its the reason I didn't go to Coach on my recent trip to the outlets. My shoes are my black, patent wedges I got from Kohl's over a year ago, and I love, love, love them!
Also, today I found the coolest new site. Its called Picnik and its a photo editing site. I was able to crop and adjust color on my pictures as well as add frames, and its free or you can upgrade to a premium membership and get more cool features... so its something neat for those of us not cool enough to have Photoshop.

lookin classic
So, today was my first day wearing my new J.Crew dress and I loved it! It is so comfortable to wear, I wore it to work so running around for 5 hours and at no point was I uncomfortable.
I decided to just go with a classic style, so I broke out my pearls and wore my favorite yellow sweater. I wore pink flat sandals that I didn't get into the picture, but just imagine that they were cute!
I took the first picture and thought it looked cool, but the little sister took the second picture for me!

Confessions of a Shopaholic....
So, I just came back from my beach trip... and I definitely spent more money on clothes than I did on the condo or food.

Then we went to JCrew which even though they don't carry plus size, their sizes run large, so some of their stuff I can fit into and if you show your student i.d. you get 15% off... So I bought a dress and the cutest cardigan!

I was doing really well, only having bought food and paid for the condo then we went to the outlets.... oh the outlets! So Tanger outlets in Foley, Alabama are my downfall... even though there is an outlet mall like 20 minutes from my house, I never go. But we had about 2 hours before we had to get on the road and I only needed about 20 minutes to do my damage, and if I had more money I would have done much worse.
First we went to Nine West, and I got the cutest pair of wedges for $20. Of course yellow is one of my favorite colors, its all bright and happy, and these shoes are really awesome I can't wait to wear them!

The Cardigan is one of those long cardigans so it fits nicely and then the buttons are crystal... the first picture doesn't really show the color well but the second one does.
And then we have my mannequin Tallulah modeling my dress... its really comfortable and loose and I like how it has a lower neckline then another dress I have like it.
So I succesfully spent all of my money in about 20 minutes... isn't that nice. And we continued shopping but I couldn't get anything else as I only had about $5 left on my debit card!
