Queen Bee

I hate bugs, but for some reason I don't mind them when it comes to jewelry. Especially if it's  a bumble bee...
Necklace- Topshop, Mirror-Vintage
Is it the fact that bees are the epitome of my favorite color combination, black and yellow? Or maybe the vintage feel of items containing them... Whatever it is bugs and bees seem to be okay for jewelry, even my wall gets some of the love. I have two bee illustrations in frames hanging above my dresser.

Crazy studying and work have been on the agenda all week. Leaving little time for postings... hence the short and sweet little post to display one of my favorite pieces of jewelry. I have my first test this semester, tomorrow for my Product Development class, I am so unsure about what we will be tested on. I'm super nervous but hopefully everything will go smoothly.

It Just Needs a Little Revamp

When I'm shopping sometimes, I'll find something that I like but I would have done it a little differently. I know I could fix things up or change them up someway, but I don't want to spend a lot and then accidently break it or do some irreversible damage to it and have wasted my hard earned money.
But shopping in F21 today I found these really neat earrings.

I love the turqouise color... because right now I am def all about that color. And I think they have that art deco-y/ vintage costumey feel.  I really liked them, but on top of them being big, they have these super long chains. Like the chain rests on my shoulder... way too long.

Now I can pull off the big earring, but the chain is a little much. I said to self, I can fix this up... So being from F21, they are cheap. At only $6.80, I don't mind causing them irreversible harm because I wouldn't be out of a whole lot of money.

Found myself some needle nose pliers and went to town.
What do you think? I'm a little obsessed with them myself... Have you ever done a little revamp?

Oh, So Silly... bandz

The first time I heard of Silly Bandz, a frantic mother had run into the store where I work asking if we carried them. We didn't at the time, so she explained what they were and told me these were the next big thing, we had to start selling them.

So the week before Easter, we got this HUGE box full of them in, and boy did they sell out quickly. Even now we can hardly keep them in stock.

And now, everyone is wearing them apparently even SJP. I mean I can see how they can be a quirky pop of color on an arm full of bangles. It is also one of those theories on how fashion spreads, starting from the kids and moving to the masses.

I think I might do it, not the whole arm of them that kids tend to do, but just one mixed in my larger array of jewelry like SJP. What do you think, would you get on the bandz wagon?

Wish list!

I am constantly shopping online, and I have started to accumulate a wish list of things. Most times I will never buy some of this stuff... but I certainly do love to look at them.

(500) Days of Summer Soundtrack- My friends and I went to see this movie the other day, and we fell in love with it and the accompanying music.

Old and New Pocket Watch Necklace- I think I have been wanting one of these since probably last year... I just haven't bought one yet. I have really fallen in love with this one from Modcloth, but currently its out of stock... So I think I plan on getting it once its in stock again.

Incase computer sleeve- I found this one the other day while i was browsing Notcouture.com. Its a black computer sleeve with safety pins on it! I love it, but just not for its price at $83.95, so I think i will just settle on looking at it.

OPI Espana- I don't know if you know this but I love Nail polish and I have a small collection of it... But I love OPI's new Espana collection... the colors are so dark and gorgeous I can't wait to get some from the collection!

Peep-Toe Wedges- I found these great shoes from Old Navy for $24.50, they are so cute and I love the color... the problem they are online only and my shoe size varies so i can't try them on.... I might just get them anyways....
So that is what tops my wish list at the moment... its always constantly changing... but thats the top for the moment.

And I just wanted to remind everyone that Project Runway Season 6  Starts Thursday, August 20 on Lifetime at 10/9c.

Ruffles and Hearts

School starts in a few weeks, and I am trying to get together clothes to wear to class. While shopping I have to be aware of the extreme heat and humidity I have to trek through to get to class. I found this great top at Old Navy. I decided it would look really cute paired with a ribbed tank underneath. So I went to Old Navy today with my friends and found both and it only cost me about $15.

But for classes this semester I am thinking lots of shorts and breezy cotton shirts that breathe! Its always so hot on campus and all the parking lots are far away from the buildings so lots and lots of walking in the heat.

Style tip: When layering tank tops, buy the bottom layer a size bigger than your size and the top layer your normal size. If you do this your layers will stand out more.

In the picture is my Heart necklace from Forever 21 and my new OPI nail polish in Russian Navy.

Fashionable Finds

So this find isn't exactly affordable for my "college student" budget, but I found it through www.notcouture.com , which I always love to go look through. So I saw this necklace and I think its super cute, you could probably find something like this for cheaper and I shall be on the look out for a look alike... but here is the necklace:
